I think one of the most famous, inspirational and short fable of its own kind is the story of the tortoise and the hare. The thing i don't understand is how Aesop used such a simple scenario and created such a light story. Then I looked on some of the other stories of Aesop and I came to know that he loved them....
The Ant and the Grasshopper, The Ass in the Lion's Skin, The Bear and the Travelers, The Bell and the Cat , The Boy Who Cried Wolf, The Cat and the Mice, The Cock and the Jewel, The Crow and the Pitcher , The Deer without a Heart, The Dog and the Bone, The Dog and the Wolf, The Dog in the Manger , The Farmer and the Stork, The Farmer and the Viper, The Frog and the Ox, The Frogs Who Desired a King, The Fox and the Crow, The Fox and the Goat, The Fox and the Grapes, The Fox and the Sick Lion, The Fox and the Stork, The Goose that Laid the Golden Eggs, The Honest Woodcutter, The Lion and the Mouse, The Lion, the Bear and the Fox ,The Milkmaid and Her Pail, The Mischievous Dog, The North Wind and the Sun, The Tortoise and the Hare, The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse, Venus and the Cat , The Wolf and the Lamb, The Wolf and the Crane, The Wolf in Sheep's Clothing
wow! Then I saw a statement made by Apollonius--a philosopher
"And there is another charm about him, namely, that he puts animals in a pleasing light and makes them interesting to mankind. For after being brought up from childhood with these stories, and after being as it were nursed by them from babyhood, we acquire certain opinions of the several animals and think of some of them as royal animals, of others as silly, of others as witty, and others as innocent."
I had an image of a smart animal for tortoise uptil I grow up and ased myself a question. why did't tortoise wake the hare up when he saw him fast asleep?
I did some research and found that the story of tortoise and hare did not end with tortoise winning. Next hare did some soal searching and find out that he was overconfident and thats why he lost the race. So he challanged the tortoise again and this time he avoided his nap and won the race.
Now, tortose felt bad about lost bettle as a winner always feel bad after loosing....its a fact. So he did some analysis and figure out his strength and invited hare for another race on another track having a cannal flowing inbetween. the started the race and hare reached cannal first and got no way to cross the cannal hence lost the race.
By that time they became friends and decided to rerun the track with combined efforts. hare carried
the tortose on his back on land and tortose carried hare on his back in cannal and they covered the distance in no time.So this is it.............
So, why they don't get friendly in the start and did this last stunt in the very begining. because tortose did't have enough goodwill to wake hare up and have friendly relations.

So, is it good to say that tortose was not actually smarter but cunning.
or should he be the fool who did't realize that frendship is the best thing in this world.
or may be I am fed up and need some fresh air to become sensible, so am shutting myself up.
